Shane West as Bane in Gotham Season 5

We’ve finally gotten our first look at Shane West as Bane. His long-anticipated appearance will finally come in the fifth season of Gotham. Though the new dynamic will be a valuable addition to the series, many fans have been critical of the first photo that was released of his new look. The traditional Bane has an iconic and incredibly distinct look. The Bane portrayed by Shane West appears to look cheap like he’s sucking venom through a torn down toaster on his chest. It’s worth noting that it is possible that the photo provided is only a starting point for the costume and that there’s more work to be done. But for now, the consensus seems to be that fans don’t like the new look.

Batman Gotham Girls Pin-Up Art Prints

The Gotham girls are looking mighty fine in these superb art prints from artist Carla Wyzgala. These prints depict Gotham’s sexiest sirens as Pin-Ups in some very teasing and flirty poses. If they looked like this in the comic books, Batman might be too flabbergasted to do his job and would let them get away with anything. The prints come in several sizes and feature Batgirl, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Zatanna. They are absolutely gorgeous.

I don’t know about you, but I am in love with this Batman Gotham Girls Print Featuring Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Batgirl. This is a 3 foot x 1.7 foot vinyl art print of an original watercolor painting by Carla Wyzgala. This would look great on any wall. I love their smirks. They are definitely up to no good. As usual.

Gotham Corral – Batman Villains In The Old West

This series called Gotham Corral is from artist doclumbago who imagines Batman’s many villains as mustache-twirling old west baddies. I have never considered these characters in this kind of setting, but now that I see it, I’d like to see more. I can picture Batman and Bane facing each other at the Okay Corral at high noon, ready to draw their irons. I hope he creates more of these characters.

Gotham Gears: Batman Characters Turned Into Robots

This is a very unique take on Gotham’s many characters from artist ChasingArtwork. It is a series of vector paintings titled Gotham Gears. This colorful and unique series features Catwoman, The Joker, Batman, Bane, Mr. Freeze & The Penguin as robots. Some of our favorites are below.

Now we know what Batman and friends would look like as post apocalyptic robots and I like it. I would read that comic book. Bane is still the largest and Batman is very Spawn-like.

The Evolution Of Batman’s Gotham City

This is a fun and fascinating video that takes a look at the evolution of Batman’s home, Gotham City. Evan Puschak (The Nerdwriter) explores the city in this seven-minute video essay. This is well worth your time. I don’t think I have ever seen an examination of Gotham like this one. It offers a lot of food for thought if you are a Batman fan.

Gotham is as much a character as Batman himself and just as fascinating, with a history just as rich as the Caped Crusader’s. After all, they are forever intertwined. Did Gotham create Batman? Did Batman create the hellish out of control version of Gotham? Maybe the real question is if they can save each other.

This fun series is titled “Native Species of Gotham City” by Ellie Bacan. It was part of DC Comics, We Could be Heroes fundraiser campaign auction awhile back. I really love what Ellie did here. It would be awesome to have an entire series of these on my walls.

Batman Villain Makeup Photoshoot

Lilly Mähdrescher could teach the Joker a thing or two about makeup. This is Lily’s creative Batman inspired fashion makeup photo shoot. Lily did the modelling, makeup and styling. I think she totally captured the spirit of Gotham’s bad girls if they did a runway show in Arkham Asylum.

Even male characters like Mr. Freeze and The Penguin are portrayed here as female fashionistas. These looks will be all the rage among Gotham’s crazies this fall.
