Fifty years ago, the science fiction film, 2001: A Space Odyssey premiered in theaters and we would never be the same. Sadly, there’s a lack of cool 2001 collectibles, but Hallmark is doing their part to give us something adorable. Dave Bowman’s character has been turned into one of the most adorable plush toys I’ve ever seen. I kinda wish they had released a plush monolith too, but Dave Bowman is pretty darn cute.
Open the pod bay doors HAL… I have some cool new toys being delivered. Medicom has done an outstanding job recreating the spacesuits that Dave Bowman and Frank Poole wore aboard the spaceship Discovery. These 6.2″ action figures are exactly the kind of toys I love. Great looking toys based on great vintage movies. Look at all of that detail.
