Princess Leia, Darth Vader & Grand Moff Tarkin Star Wars Cosplay

Cosplayer Critical Miss and a few of her friends pulled off a fun and entertaining Star Wars group cosplay in these images. Not only are there scenes from the movie, but there are some other funny images that I had to show here.

The photography was done by Richard Dufault who did as excellent a job as the cosplayers themselves. I hope they are all satisfied with the DNA test results. They obviously had a ton of fun.

Star Wars Costumes Trailer

A new book highlights some of the most gorgeous costume work from the original Star Wars trilogy. In Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy, Brandon Alinger has compiled a history of every major costume from the first three Star Wars films. Think about that for a moment. Think about all of the charcters that were on screen in that trilogy. This was not an easy task.

Check out the trailer for the book here as well as some of the pages. This is going to be a fun read.

Adorable Fionna & Cake Cosplay

Around here we love Adventure Time and this Fionna and Cake cosplay from Larina is both adorable and creative. Even mathematical! Larina looks super cute posing with that Cake plush toy. She really captured the adventuring spirit of the show and the character.

When you combine her obvious love of the show with quality photography from EleventhPhotograph, M1Photo and Santrizos Photography, you have a winning combination.

Star Wars III: Behind The Scenes Photos

If you are a fan of the Star Wars prequels, check out these fascinating and not-so-often-seen behind the scenes photos. Even if you hate the prequels, you can’t help but respect all of the hard work that went on behind the scenes of this final installment.

Yes it had a ton of CGI, but this movie also had some massive sets and a ton of prop work and models as can be seen in some of the images below.

X-Men: Days Of Fashion Past

One of the things I don’t like about the recent X-Men movies are the costumes. I want more colorful costumes like the ones drawn on our favorite mutants in the comic books. Well, if you are also tired of seeing your favorite mutants dressed only in black jumpsuits, illustrator Kevin Wada, has upped their fashion. Drastically.

These images are from a series called X-Fashion, and they do look like they belong in a high fashion magazine. The heroes and the villains all get a fashion makeover. The designs even align with each character’s mutant powers. I guess the danger room is a lot more colorful now.

Spider-Man and His Amazing Threads Infographic

Spider-Man has been around for decades and over that time he has had many outfits. He changes with the times like anyone else. Halloweencostumes.com has created this infographic to show us all of the costume changes Spidey has undergone through the years. It’s so hard to pick a favorite.

Of course this infographic is not complete. There are several costumes not shown, but it is still fun to have a look at Spidey through the years.

Doctor Who Short Story Collection Has Lovely Minimalist Covers

You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but when the covers are this good we just can’t help ourselves. Penguin Books is releasing an updated anthology for their Doctor Who short stories that are written by famous children’s authors. This new version is updated to include a story for Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor.

But just look at those new minimalist covers for each book. It really is like having every doctor inside of that TARDIS slipcase. Take my money!

You’ll get stories written by Neil Gaiman, Malorie Blackman and Eoin Colfer. The new story for the Twelfth Doctor is Lights Out by Holly Black. There will be a normal edition of the collection that has all 12 stories in one book, but this gift edition is the one that has the awesome covers.

Holy costume switching Batman! Pick a look and stick with it buddy! This amazing visual recap of Batman’s history was created by artist Salvador Anguiano for Poster Posse’s 75th anniversary Batman tribute project. It shows all of the various design changes that the caped crusader has gone through over the years.

It includes designs from the comic books, TV shows, movies, and video games too. Like the rest of us, Batman does indeed change with the times, even if his core mission and thirst for justice never changes.
