io9 has a cool article about Back To The Future Part II’s future tech, where they interview Edward Eyth, one of the designers of that tech. Eyth is auctioning off some of his original concept drawings from Back to the Future Part II on ebay.
Back to the Future II is probably the best film in the trilogy. Growing up in the 80s and experiencing these movies was so amazing. Well, it’s 2015 so let’s see what Back To The Future 2 got right about the once future year that we are living in. Luckily for us, the folks at Stay Sourced have created this awesome infographic so that we can see how well the movie predicted the world as it is today.
I know one thing. We still don’t have any time traveling cars and the flux capacitor hasn’t been invented yet. Wait. Maybe that means the timeline has been changed! And Doc Brown never hit his head on the toilet! Great Scott!
Here we are in 2015 so it is definitely a good time to take a look at the 2015 glimpsed in Back to the Future II. It could have been even weirder. Some vintage concept art from the production has surfaced and these pieces show many designs that didn’t make the cut.
Tim Flattery, a veteran concept artist who helped create this then-future world, talked with Newsweek about the experience.
They certainly came up with a lot of wacky ideas. Had they left all of this in it probably would have been overwhelming. But it is awesome to get to see this stuff.
