70s and 80s Sci-Fi was a very special thing. We had a wide array of adventures to choose from in that era. The 1970s was an awesome time for Sci-Fi. We had Star wars, Battlestar Galactica, Logan’s Run… I could go on all day. Jeff Quigley obviously loves himself some 1970s Sci-Fi, so he created these amazing retro 70s Sci-Fi posters.
There’s a Cylon Centurion, The Six Million Dollar Man as a Cyborg, Twiki from Buck Rogers represents an Android and even Knight Rider as a Vigilante. I love the retro style and colors. These could have easily been promotional posters for these shows back in the day.
I loved Logan’s Run when I was a kid. Both the movie and the short lived TV series. Even now that I have passed carousel age, I can still appreciate it. Check out these behind the scenes images from the show, mixed with some actual images from the episodes. These sure bring back memories.
With Hollywood making so many reboots I expect to see this title happen again fairly soon. Though I hope I’m wrong. Some things should be left alone.
Now here’s something you don’t see everyday. This short clip is a fascinating look behind the scenes at the making of Logan’s Run movie, focusing on a 1975 MGM studio press publicity tour. This movie is a classic and definitely a product of it’s era. One of my all-time favorites for sure.
This clip briefly shows the director, the producer and costume designer and more. Some of the movies costumes are also being shown off, though the Sandman uniform would be different in the film. The strangest part is near the end, when the guy modeling the Sandman uniform turns out to be David Hasselhoff. That has to be him.
