The Poster Posse recently paid tribute to Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi horror film Alien, for the film’s 35th Anniversary this year. I can’t believe it has been that long. Time flies when you are enjoying great Sci-Fi.
Below are several pieces of art that were submitted for the first phase of the tribute project. This is some fantastic art from one of our favorite groundbreaking movies.
Fans of Battlestar Galactica will want to own this Battlestar Galactica 35th Anniversary Art Portfolio by Ralph McQuarrie book. Inside you will be thrilled to find 24 of Ralph’s Original concept paintings of: A fleet of Battlestars, The Cylon assult on Caprica, Baltar brought before the Imperious Leader, The bridge of the Galactica, The Tylioum mines of the insect-like Ovions and many more.
I could get absorbed in this for hours. As with Star Wars, Ralph McQuarrie was instrumental in shaping Battlestar Galactica. Most know that he was involved with Star Wars, but many don’t realize the influence he had with Battlestar.
