Behind The Scenes Photos From Planet of the Apes(1967)

These photographs were taken on the set of the 1968 film Planet of the Apes. It’s really bizarre to see these simians just relaxing in full ape makeup between shooting scenes. These 1967 behind the scenes pictures were shot in California and show the apes smoking, eating, drinking, relaxing in the shade and doing other very human things.

It’s kind of amazing that they could do anything in those masks when not filming. They don’t even seem to mind all that much. Of course this film had a score of big name actors who were all professionals.

2001: A Space Odyssey Trailer With Rare Test Footage

A rare trailer for Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey has surfaced online. The trailer was released about a year before the film opened in 1968. That’s why it has a bunch of concept art and test footage. None of the finished scenes were ready at the time. As you can see that didn’t stop them from promoting the movie so they could get people excited about it.
