Funny Marvel Superhero Action Figure Photography

Some people just play with their action figures, while others make an art form out of playing with their toys. Photographer Hrjoe has taken this wonderful series of photos that capture our favorite Marvel superhero action figures in funny situations.

It’s like watching secret behind the scenes footage of their lives together. Or a Marvel sitcom. You won’t believe some of the situations they get into.

Batman Inspired Cereals

Like Jello, there’s always room for more superhero cereals. Phil Postma created this series of Batman-inspired cereal boxes. The art on each box blows my mind. Each has a ton of detail relating to that character. The Riddler’s cereal has a free puzzle on the back(Of course), while the Penguin’s cereal is shaped like little fish, for instance.

Why can’t we have cereals this cool for real? I ask you, in a world where we have put a man on the moon and managed to divorce George Lucas from Star Wars, why can we not have this?

Tim Burton Style Avengers

Tim Burton gave us such classics as Edward Scissorhands, the 1989 Batman movie, Beetlejuice and many more, but have you ever wondered what he could have done with The Avengers? These sketches from artist Xenia Rassolova give us a pretty good idea. They all look spot on if you ask me. That’s totally Tim Burton style.

As much as I like some of Burton’s classic movies, I’m glad he didn’t touch The Avengers. This is still a cool concept though. It’s always nice to see a new take on familiar characters that we know.

Marvel And DC Comics Characters Mashed Together

Artist Eric Guzman did a fantastic job with this series. What would happen if you merged the characters from DC Comics and Marvel together? Well, what you get is a new universe filled with brand new yet familiar characters like The Joking Goblin, Deadshot the Hunter, Darewing, MysteRiddle, Banenom, Dr. Octofreeze, Poison Scorpion, Captain Krypton, and The Scavenger. I am really digging these new characters.

It’s too bad this could never happen in the pages of either company’s comic books. I would love to see more.

The Muppets As Comic Book Characters

These images should please Muppet fans and Superhero fans alike. This fun art series features several of our favorite Muppet characters as comic book superheroes and villains. These drawings were done by Roger Langridge and they are sure to make you smile.

I never thought I would see a Silver Swedish Surfer Chef. Or a Bizarro Beaker. Now if only we could make this a reality, it would be a hilarious movie. It would probably make a ton of money too. Someone get on that.

Poster Series Features Iconic Weapons And Their Masters

This series of posters from London based artist Luke Butland focuses on some of the gunslingers that we know and love. This collection features Han Solo, Judge Dredd, Robocop, and more. This series is all about stylish brush strokes and textures, with each character’s weapon of choice shown below.

These bold illustrations really bring the sharpshooters to life and gives them a darker edgy presence. You instantly know that these guys are dangerous.

Yearbook Pictures Of Fictional Characters

Cracked held a photoshop contest where readers were asked to come up with Yearbook photos for fictional characters. Below is a sampling of winners and the runners-up. It’s a fun assortment that includes Back To The Future, Star Trek, Ghostbusters, Predator and many more.

The Starfleet Academy Hall of Fame has to be my favorite. Marty McFly as Calvin Klein ranks pretty high too. Thanks to all of the talented photoshoppers who brought these to life.

What Batman Would Look Like In 16 Different Eras

Most of us have probably imagined what Batman would be like with different gear, a different costume and being from a different era. It’s easy to imagine the Caped Crusader in almost any time period. This collection of Batman fan art does just that.

Here Batman is seen in different eras that are both real and fictional. It just proves that Batman fits in in almost any time and place. And as much as I love all of these interpretations, I wouldn’t trade the Batman we have for any of them.

DC Variant Covers For March Look Like Movie Posters

For their March 2015 issues, DC Comics has announced variant covers that will honor iconic films. So expect some of your favorite superhero covers to look different in March. There are 22 covers in all, mimicking famous movie posters. You can check all of them out below.

These covers should help them to sell more issues for sure. Personally, I’d like to see them do this more often. I can already see that March is going to be an expensive month for me, because I intend to collect them all.

This Doctor Who Fan Video Shows The TARDIS Dematerializing In A New Way

For all of it’s history, the TARDIS has de-materialized in the same way. It slowly fades in and out of existence in one place and appears somewhere else. This VFX video from John Smith shows it materializing in a new and exciting way.

In fact, I’m surprised that the showrunners haven’t tried this on the show yet. Then again, it is a bit showy to use every time the TARDIS goes somewhere. It is fun to see though. I could watch this all day long. The creator did an awesome job.
