Disney Artists Illustrate Star Wars Characters With Cats

Disney feature animation artists Griz and Norm Lemay created these Star Wars: The Force Awakens illustrations depicting some of our favorite characters with cats that match them.

Rey has a Bengal cat, while BB-8 has Calico kittens to match his color scheme. Proof that everything is better with cats. Even Star Wars. I like the playful style. Hopefully they will create more in this series. I’m interested to know what kind of cat Kylo Ren has.

These beautiful minimal and retro Star Wars posters from POTAPOTA are perfect, conveying so much with so little. Kind of like Yoda actually. This unique poster series was designed with the best quotes from the movies and most memorable parts of the films and there are several versions to choose from. All look amazing. Several of these would look so good on my office walls… I think I have to get some for myself. So long money.

Gotham Gears: Batman Characters Turned Into Robots

Gotham Gears Batman Characters Turned Into Robots
This is a very unique take on Gotham’s many characters from artist ChasingArtwork. It is a series of vector paintings titled Gotham Gears. This colorful and unique series features Catwoman, The Joker, Batman, Bane, Mr. Freeze & The Penguin as robots. Some of our favorites are below.

Now we know what Batman and friends would look like as post apocalyptic robots and I like it. I would read that comic book. Bane is still the largest and Batman is very Spawn-like.

Star Wars Gaming Tribute Art

Star Wars Gaming Tribute Art
I’m loving this colorful Star Wars Gaming Tribute Art. And since Star Wars fever is everywhere right now, this is a good time to share it. Artist Rob Duenas has outdone himself with this piece. There is so much to see in this amazing artwork, I’m still not sure I have noticed all of the details.

All of the cool Star Wars games are here. Star Wars arcade games, the old Atari 2600 games, the computer games from the 90s. There is just so much here. I like all of the little touches like the Han Solo in Carbonite keychain hanging next to a mini Lando on Leia’s Boba Fett backpack. It’s so colorful and playful. Leia knows how to game with the best of them.

Ralph Steadman’s Illustrations For Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451

Ralph Steadman's Illustrations For Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451
Ray Bradbury is one of Science Fictions greatest authors. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fahrenheit 451 in 2003, artist Ralph Steadman was commissioned to illustrate Bradbury’s classic book. When Bradbury saw the work that Steadman did for the book, it blew him away. You can see why. These illustrations definitely compliment Bradbury’s style. I’ve never seen these before, but I had to share, because these are sooo awesome. They are so frantic and energetic.

Marvel And DC Superhero Families

Marvel And DC Superhero Families
You know who the real heroes are? People who are all about family. Good moms and dads are way more super than Batman and Wonder Woman. I guess that’s why I like this art series from French artist Andry Shango. These images are adorable and all about “Super Families”.

He manages to convey a ton of emotion in these images, even though you don’t see faces. That just blows me away. It’s always fun to see our heroes in new ways. In this case, we see them as more family oriented.

The Daily Lives Of Superheroes And Villains

The Daily Lives Of Superheroes And Villains
We can never get enough of seeing fictional characters doing everyday things just like us mere mortals. I think it makes us feel more heroic somehow and by seeing superheroes and pop culture characters doing things like laundry and using public restrooms, it kind of brings them down closer to our level.

This series of amazing photographs comes from Canada-based photographer Daniel Picard. It shows superheroes, supervillains and other pop-culture characters doing all of the stuff that we do. He uses action figures, but you would swear that some of those characters are real people dressed in a costume. You can check out his Figure Fantasy book for many more.

The Lost Family Portraits Of Sci-Fi Icons

The Lost Family Portraits Of Sci-Fi Icons
Berlin, Germany based artist Sanja Zakovska created this fun series called The Lost Family Portraits. It depicts some of our favorite Sci-Fi icons in antique style portraits. The best one is the Alien/Predator family portrait with Predator dad, Alien mom and Facehugger child.

This is a clever and fun series that puts some familiar faces into our past and lets us view them as if in a scrapbook.
