HBO premiered the first trailer of season two of Westworld over the weekend and big surprise, the park is in trouble. Basically, there are bodies everywhere, and it looks like the hosts aim to drop more human bodies. The best part is Dolores shooting guests from horseback. This is going to be good.
Here is the Comic-Con trailer for Star Trek: Discovery. It is definitely the most intense trailer for the series yet, but that doesn’t mean that fan reaction isn’t mixed. The show takes place about 10 years before the original crew and there is a conflict between Starfleet and Klingons. There is a lot of action here and again, we don’t get a look at the main ship, which is very concerning.
The new trailer for Justice League was released at Comic-Con and it has a ton of new footage. This trailer will excite fans. It centers around the villain Steppenwolf and has a lot of great action. I personally still hate the Flash’s suit, but I really like this trailer and it gets me excited for the movie.
Even if you can’t fly the TARDIS, surely you can turn on a lamp. Turning on this TARDIS Console Motion Light is like activating the TARDIS. The hypnotic waxy globules rise and fall as if the TARDIS is in flight. Now this is a lamp that Doctor Who fans can completely adore. Everytime you use it, it will be like going on a voyage with the Doctor.
You may not be aware, but a group of developers have created a simulation game that lets players pit limitless units of whatever you can think of against each other. Like Chickens and dinosaurs for instance. It’s called The Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator, and to show off what it can do, YouTuber SergiuHellDragoonHQ has released gameplay footage of 10,000 Jedi against 40,000 Spartans. The Jedi aren’t even using Force powers, just lightsabers. Even so, the carnage. Oh, the carnage!
The Spider-Man Homecoming Spider-Man EAA-051 Action Figure from Beast Kingdom has an amazing sculpt with some great attention to detail, right down to duplicating all of the raised spider web areas on the costume. Spidey stands 6-inches tall and has 30 points of articulation. That means you can pose him in man many ways. He also comes with 3x spider webs and a total of 8x interchangeable hands. I love the detail on this one.
Here is a fun Star Wars mashup. French filmmaker Fabrice Mathieu has created “Raiders of the Lost Darth” a mashup of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars. It is actually a special edition of his mashup from last year, called “Raiders of the Lost Dark” and it features more special effects and Easter eggs. You’ll have to watch this one a few times to see everything. If you have ever wanted these two franchises to meet, here ya go.
Scott Park has illustrated an amazing poster that has all of the moments that make up RoboCop. It was created for Gallery 1988’s “30 Years Later” show, which opens July 21. Park knew right away that Robocop was the theme he wanted to do. I’d buy that for a dollar.
Adult Swim has released a new promo for Rick and Morty called “Exquisite Corpse.” The thing is, it is crazy. Crazier than anything you have seen from Rick and Morty in awhile. It is insane. We love it. It showcases the unique animation styles of 22 artists. I can’t wait for this show to come back. All-new episodes will start on July 30th.
Director James Cameron has accomplished a lot in Hollywood, and now his bucket list must surely be complete. He is getting his own action figure thanks to NECA. The figure features Cameron as a Colonial Marine from his classic movie Aliens. It’s is a great way to celebrate the filmmaker. He looks pretty good in the role, don’t you think?
USCM Colonel Cameron becomes the highest-ranking officer in the Aliens movie universe. The 7″ scale figure has over 25 points of articulation and features the likeness of James Cameron as he appeared during the filming of Aliens. There are a few fun Easter eggs relating to the director hidden on the figure itself: a Canadian flag shoulder patch, the Lightstorm logo (Cameron’s film production company), and a Pandora planet patch.
It is available to pre-order on the NECA website and will also be sold at Toys ‘R’ Us stores. If they last long enough for you to get one.
